Toronto South LIP Collaboration Award 2017

On May 29th, 2017, Toronto South LIP was pleased to present the third annual Collaboration award to CultureLink, WoodGreen Community Services and ACESS Employment for their collaboration in developing the "Guide for International Students of Toronto Secondary Schools." The guide is designed to help both frontline staff and international secondary school students connect to resources and programs that support their academic, social and health needs.

Toronto South LIP Collaboration Award 2016

On May 26th, 2016, Toronto South LIP was pleased to present the the second annual Collaboration award to COSTI Immigrant Services; JobStart; Delta Family Resource Centre; YMCA Newcomer Information Centre, YMCA of Greater Toronto; Working Women Community Centre; Essential Skills Upgrading Program, Toronto District School Board; Humber College; West Neighbourhood House and Model Schools for Inner Cities, Toronto District School Board for their collaboration in the development of the Welcome to School website.  The website is designed to settlement counselors, teachers, community support workers, school council members and other frontline professionals connect newcomer parents, children and youth with helpful information, resources, workshops and programs.

Toronto Newcomer Day

On May 29th, 2015, Toronto South LIP was pleased to participate in the first annual Toronto Newcomer Day, hosted by the Toronto Newcomer Office. The event gave an opportunity for newcomers to learn about City services and community resources, enjoy live performances and the Mayor's proclamation of Newcomer Day.  Visitors to the event were also encouraged to record a message at Speaker's Corner on what they liked best about Toronto.

Toronto South LIP Collaboration Award

On May 28th, 2015 we were excited to announce the first Toronto South LIP Collaboration Award presented to the Parkdale Interagency Referral Network (PIRN) for their commitment to service collaboration int he Parkdale community and their continued work in better coordinating services for newcomers through the Parkdale Common Referral Protocol.

Toronto South LIP Newcomer Welcome Brochure Launch

On May 27th, 2015 the Toronto South LIP celebrated the launch of our Newcomer Welcome Brochure. The launch was celebrated with a panel discussion on best practices for collaborative outreach and projects.  The panelists included: Bill Sinclair, St. Stephen's Community House, Mulugeta Abai, Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture and Nicole Watson, Toronto Newcomer Office.
