Description
The purpose of this group is to work on issues of Social Inclusion and creating a Welcoming Community for newcomers in our catchment area including addressing issues of racism and islamophobia in agencies and schools.

Terms of Reference

Self-Inclusion Audit Tool 

This tool was developed by the Toronto South LIP as a guide for all of our working groups and committees.  The purpose is to ensure that group membership is inclusive and reflects the communities we work with.  The audit tool is a checklist that helps working groups identify who is missing from the membership. This can then be used to direct their recruitment strategy.

Projects for 2017-2018
The working group will be working on:
· developing a Newcomer "Speaker's Bureau"
· continuing work on 'Being an Active Citizen' curriculum
·
a project focusing on creating schools as welcoming hubs
